- Sean Lee, Sales Director, iMin Technology
11:30 AM - 11:50 AM Future of Food
As health and wellness trends reshape consumption patterns, emerging treatments such as GLP-1 drugs, plant-based proteins and shifting attitudes toward alcohol are beginning to alter how, what and why people eat and drink. In this session, we explore how quickly these largely Western shifts could take hold in Asia, and what structural changes they may trigger across menus, product portfolios and customer experiences. From the rise of no- and low-alcohol alternatives to the long-term challenge of water access, this conversation looks at the trends shaping the future of food and the shifts businesses may need to consider.
- Julien Bourdiniere, Senior Partner Consumer Goods & Retail Southeast Asia, Roland Berger
11:50 AM - 12:00 PM What Is It Costing You to Overlook the Frontline?
In QSR, strategy is set at HQ, but results are delivered on the restaurant floor. When frontline teams lack visibility, authority, or context, the hidden costs surface in higher turnover, slower rollouts, inconsistent execution, and margin leakage across every outlet. Yet many organisations continue to treat the frontline as an execution layer rather than a strategic asset. This session explores the missed opportunities and financial impact of underinvesting in frontline empowerment — and why leading operators are shifting their operating model. From Guzman y Gomez reframing HQ as a Restaurant Support Center, to Nando’s restoring decision-making to restaurant managers, to OUE Restaurants rapidly implementing ideas from the floor, these moves reflect a structural shift.
- Mark Dembitz, General Manager, APAC, Lark
12:00 PM - 12:30 PM QSR and Money Panel
What really gets a QSR brand funded today? The QSR & Money panel goes beyond the headlines, bringing investors and capital leaders together to reveal how they evaluate brands, opportunities, and risk. From emerging concepts to established players, learn what’s driving deal activity and where the smart money is heading next.
The panel features Amit Manocha, Group CFO, Everstone Group, a private equity firm whose Everstone Capital arm has backed major quick-service restaurant players including the master franchisee of Burger King in India and Indonesia; and Shaurya Ahuja, EY-Parthenon Partner, Consumer Products & Retail, Ernst & Young Solutions LLP, bringing strategic advisory in consumer and retail transformation; and Steen Puggaard, CEO, Louis T Collection Pte. 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM LUNCH BREAK
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM AWARDS PROGRAMME
2:00 PM - 2:15 PM The Rise of Snacking and Sauce
Moderator:
- Craig Finney, General Manager Foodservice, Kerry
2:15 PM - 2:35 PM Is Your Efficiency Making Your Brand Invisible?
The QSR industry has relentlessly optimised for efficiency. Service is now faster and smoother than ever, but efficiency is no longer a differentiator. As competitors converge, brands are pushed to compete on price and proximity, eroding loyalty and pricing power.
This session asks a different question: not “How can we be faster?” but “How can we be more memorable?” It explores a counterintuitive insight into customer behaviour: people do not remember consistency; they remember peaks. Drawing on examples from QSR and beyond, the talk offers a practical framework to focus investment where it matters most and build a brand that competes on more than speed and price.
- Suchit Kakar, Senior Strategist - Experience, Landor
2:35 PM - 3:05 PM Next-Gen QSR Panel
What sets apart the QSR brands scaling quickly across Asia — and sustaining momentum? This panel brings together leaders from emerging and fast-growing QSR brands that have captured consumer attention, market share, or cultural relevance in their markets. Speakers will share the stories behind their growth, the localisation strategies that matter, and how they’re navigating their next phase of expansion.
This panel will feature Walther Buenavista, CEO of Shawarma Shack, one of the Philippines’ largest grab-and-go shawarma chains with plans for international expansion; Josh Bell, Principal & Director of Guzman y Gomez and YO-CHi SG, Australian brands growing their presence in Singapore; and Erika Tangtatco, Marketing Head of LA Chicks, a fast-casual Nashville-style fried chicken chain making waves in the Philippines.

Julien has over 25 years of experience in management consulting, with a focus on consumer goods and retail industries. He is now a Senior Partner with Roland Berger and leads the firm’s Asian Consumer & Retail practice.
Prior to joining Roland Berger, Julien held several leadership roles in the management consulting industry in Asia. Over his consulting career, he has delivered projects across Europe and Asia, gradually concentrating on fast-growing consumer markets.
From 2006 to 2009, he worked as a principal consultant in Mumbai to one of the world's fastest and most ambitious retail rollouts in the world, bringing to life a retail network to over 1,300 stores in just 18 months — all from scratch. Over the last 10 years, he has worked closely with global sports brands, luxury, and cosmetics brands in the design of their growth strategies in the Chinese eCommerce market, and has advised leading Asia retailers in the redesign of their growth strategies, store formats, and operating models.
Julien holds master’s degrees from the École Centrale de Lyon and Essec Business School in Paris, and attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
